Getting to Siquijor – Best Routes, Current Schedules, and Prices for 2026

#Take me to Siquijor

Flights to Siquijor

Siquijor has a small airport located in the western part of the island, which has been served by regular flights since December 15, 2025. This makes Siquijor directly accessible by plane for tourists for the first time.

At the moment, Sunlight Air is the only airline operating scheduled flights to Siquijor. The Philippine carrier offers both direct flights and connecting flights via its hubs in Cebu, Manila, and Clark. This also makes it possible to reach Siquijor from other islands such as Siargao, and there are onward flights from Siquijor to destinations like Coron.

You can find the current flight schedule and all available routes directly on the airline’s website, which is currently the only place where flights to Siquijor can be booked.

Ferry to Siquijor

Multiple ferries from different operators sail to Siquijor daily, departing from Cebu, Bohol (Tagbilaran), or Dumaguete. Siquijor itself has two ferry ports: the central port in Siquijor Town (which shares its name with the island) and the port in Larena, located on the island’s northwest coast. Ferries to Siquijor include both fast boats and „Roll-on/Roll-off” ferries (commonly known as RoRo). In addition to passengers, RoRos also transport vehicles and, on certain days, offer overnight services with sleeping cabins from Cebu. While RoRo ferries are more affordable for passengers than fast boats, they are slower and typically only serve the Larena port.

The easiest, fastest, and most comfortable way to reach Siquijor is by taking the fast ferries operated by Oceanjet directly to Siquijor Town. Oceanjet ferries are air-conditioned, equipped with toilets, and offer the highest availability on a daily basis.

Note:

When booking your ticket, consider the distance between the ports in Siquijor Town and Larena to your accommodation on Siquijor. The port in Siquijor Town is more centrally located and much closer to the tourist areas in San Juan.

Note:

Make sure to have a sweater or jacket handy for the ferry ride, as the air conditioning on the fast boats can sometimes be a bit too strong. It can get especially cold on longer trips.

Buying Tickets to Siquijor

Tickets to Siquijor can be purchased in advance online or at the ticket offices at the ports. The most comprehensive ticket selection for the Philippines is available through the booking portal 12go.asia*. However, tickets are usually a bit cheaper if you buy them directly from the operator’s website and pay in Philippine Pesos – provided your bank doesn’t charge additional fees for the transaction. The cheapest option is to buy tickets directly at the ticket counter.

When booking online through Oceanjet, there’s a 10% booking fee on the ticket price, ranging from ₱35 – ₱160 (approx $0.59 – $2.71), depending on the ticket. The advantage of booking online is that you secure a spot on your preferred boat, as seats can sometimes sell out, especially on weekends or during peak season. Plus, you save time by skipping the lines at the ticket counter, and you can go directly to the port with your online ticket.

If you still choose to purchase your ticket at the counter, remember to have your passport ready. The tickets are personalized and non-transferable.

Cebu City to Siquijor

The port with the most connections to Siquijor is located in Cebu City, on the eastern side of Cebu Island. Oceanjet is the only operator offering fast boats on the Cebu City to Siquijor route. Oceanjet boats depart twice daily from Cebu Pier 1 to Siquijor Town, with a stopover in Tagbilaran (Bohol). The entire trip takes approximately 4 hours and costs 1600 ₱ (around $27.06) per person for economy class. When purchasing your tickets, you’ll receive two separate tickets (Cebu ➔ Tagbilaran and Tagbilaran ➔ Siquijor), but you don’t need to switch boats in Tagbilaran – you can simply stay seated.

In addition to the Oceanjet fast boats, RoRo ferries operated by Starlite Ferries and Lite Shipping also run from Cebu City to Larena in Siquijor, taking around 8 to 10 hours for the journey. On some days, they also operate as overnight ferries. However, since these ferries don’t operate daily, it’s important to check the schedules individually.

Manila to Siquijor

There are no direct ferries from Manila to Siquijor. Therefore, the only option is to combine a flight and a ferry ride. Since domestic flights within the Philippines are often quite affordable, it’s recommended to check flights from Manila to Dumaguete, and then take a short ferry ride from Dumaguete to Siquijor.

Note:

If you tend to get seasick, it’s a good idea to take a motion sickness tablet before your ferry ride, as the waters can sometimes be a bit rough.

Luggage with Oceanjet

Large luggage, such as suitcases and trolleys, must be checked in for a fee of ₱50 – ₱100 (approx $0.85 – $1.69). Large backpacks, on the other hand, can be brought on board without checking in and are typically stored at the front of the boat. There is no limit on the number of items you can check in, so you can drop off multiple pieces of luggage if needed.

Note: Technically, Oceanjet has specific weight and baggage allowance rules, with a 10 kg free allowance for carry-on luggage in economy class. However, these are rarely enforced, and the requirements mostly seem to apply to travelers transporting bulky items.

From the Port in Siquijor to Your Accommodation

At the port in Siquijor, several taxis and tricycles are available to take you directly to your accommodation. A trip from Siquijor Town to San Juan by tricycle typically costs around ₱350 (approx $5.92). However, drivers at the port may charge a small surcharge – as is common in many places. If the prices seem too high, you can either negotiate with the drivers or walk a little further from the port and try asking a different driver.

If you don’t have too much luggage, you could also rent a scooter directly at the port in Siquijor and ride to your accommodation. The advantage of this is that when it’s time to leave, you can simply ride the scooter back to the port, return it, and then board your ferry.
